Synopsis

Mejor no me des Nada es una comedia ácida, inspirada en eventos reales y mitos urbanos que afirman que el terreno sobre el que se construyó el obelisco porteño le fue usurpado ilegalmente a Don Domingo Acassuso, quien cedió esas tierras en 1733 para la construcción de una iglesia con la condición de que, si el terreno se utilizaba para otra cosa que no fuera la iglesia, debía regresar a la familia. Cosa que nunca sucedió…

Synopsis

Zoe (16), an introverted and rebellious teenager, signs up for a subscription to Mrs. Insta, a controversial fake-follower company with her stepfather’s credit card. She does it to stand out in front of the juries for a scholarship at a famous music conservatory that would eventually take her away from home. She has no idea that these followers are inmates of a high-security prison, that she will end up collaborating in unraveling a corrupt prison system, that the prisoners will end up fugitives in her home and that one of them will become the close friend she longed to find since her father’s death.  Despite not being accepted into the music conservatory for her less than transparent maneuver brought to light by the ruthless Mrs. Insta, a video of her playing the violin for her new controversial friends will end up being all the rage on social media and real followers will begin to arrive on her Instagram account.

Synopsis

Nine Letter is a miniseries of 12 episodes, one hour each.
It is an anthology that takes in a hundred years of the Hollywood Sign’s history and the events surrounding each of its 9 letters.
It is a historical drama based on real characters and events.
In two years’ time, on 8 December 2023, the Hollywood Sign will celebrate its 100th birthday, an occasion sure to be marked with much fanfare.

In 1978, to mark the 75th anniversary of Hollywood’s incorporation as a city, the original sign was replaced by a new one. The unveiling, for which the sign was surrounded by a mass of searchlights  flooding the sky above with beams of light, brought in a television audience of 60 million in the United States alone.

In short, ours is no ordinary protagonist. This is the story of 9 letters in sheet metal that form a sign 13 meters high, 106 meters long – 9 letters that spell out ‘Hollywood’.
A meditation on adaptation and reinvention.

The copyright for the Hollywood Sign, or more specifically the ‘Hollywood Stylized Mark’, belongs to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
NINE LETTERS has obtained permission for worldwide use of the Mark in this TV series from Global Icons.

Synopsis

Malambo is a contemporary small-town thriller about an Argentinian zapateador folk dancer who has lost his job performing at tourist ranches. When his family is threatened with eviction, he agrees to be trained up for a clandestine malambo contest, knowing the prize money will be enough to save them. Synopsis

A 47-year-old actor in Los Angeles learns by chance that he is idolised in a distant country for the role of a masked crusader he played 15 years ago, in a show that was cancelled after two seasons.

He decides to drop everything and head for this new country, Argentina, where the press elevate him to the level of hero and celebrity, and he enjoys the adulation of millions of people. In Argentina, the people adopt him as one of their own, because his fictional hero is just the man they need to confront the murky political reality of a country experiencing yet another military dictatorship, with thousands of people being disappeared.

Taking advantage of this newfound success and the accompanying celebrity, the actor begins appearing as his character, Zorro, in countless prime-time TV shows. And he starts planning his definitive comeback, writing a film that will catapult him back to fame. But to make his dream a reality he must first confront the whims of the local producers in whose hands the film’s fate lies.

With the transition from military dictatorship to democracy, and the awarding of the 78 World Cup to Argentina, the public appetite for a masked crusader fighting for the rights of the voiceless wanes, and the invites to appear on popular talk shows dry up. On the other hand, he finally reaches an agreement with one of the most powerful TV channels in Argentina. They agree to make his film if, in exchange, he will perform in character every day at the Royal Madrid Circus in a resort on the Atlantic coast, far from the capital.

Unfortunately, the military dictatorship clamps down on the TV channel and the financing for his film vanishes into thin ar. This comes just at the moment when the director of the largest tabloid publishing group in the country, on the verge of bankruptcy, decides to change his approach. In a cruel plot, the publisher that once put him on a pedestal now decides to engage its readership, many of whom are fans of the actor, by using fake news to discredit the one thing that Zorro, Diego de la Vega and Guy Williams all shared: their code of honour…

Madrid, 1990. To save Cerro Belmonte, the neighbourhood where she grew up, from being unjustly expropriated at the hands of the city’s mayor, Esther Castellanos (28), an inexperienced but stubborn lawyer, will lead the elderly locals in a ceaseless struggle with the intransigent local authorities. In the process, they will gain their own constitution, anthem, flag and even political asylum from Fidel Castro, proclaiming themselves an independent country within the Kingdom of Spain.
This is the story of the Kingdom of Cerro Belmonte, a kingdom without a king.

Synopsis

Madrid, 1990. As the bulldozers and diggers prepare to begin expropriating the land of the Cerro Belmonte neighbourhood, an area of low-rise houses in the Valdezarza district of Madrid, the lawyer Esther Castellanos (28) gets ready to face the television cameras once more on behalf of the 250 sexagenarian residents whom the city council wants to pay a pittance to for their homes.

Behind them now is the hunger strike by 69 of the elderly residents, the trip to Cuba by 25 of them to sign a request for political asylum to Fidel Castro, and the declaration of independence that saw the neighbourhood renamed the ‘Kingdom of Cerro Belmonte’. All they need now is recognition from the UN, and they will become an independent country in the heart of Madrid. The words of the national anthem, composed by a local punk band, mention the mayor himself, but despite this he still pays them no heed.

When the red light of the television camera turns on – this time to discuss putting a toll booth on the Sinesio Delgado motorway to help raise funds for the new kingdom and warn the people of Madrid about the need show a passport to enter – a journalist asks her if they really think the city council is going to give in. It is then that Esther recounts what the Fidel told her when she asked him for advice: “Not more than a year ago I received a personal letter from Ronald Reagan typed in perfect Spanish,” said the communist leader, “Despite the adjustments to the embargo and the prohibition of American citizens from spending money in Cuba, the man asked me to shake hands with him in front of the cameras at the United Nations summit. Returning the gesture, I replied in perfect English: ‘A Thousand times No’. Perseverance is your only weapon against power. Answer a thousand times no and you will win by attrition.”
